We are starting a new area here at HH to
show factory stamping errors and mistyped broadcast sheet
codes. If you have a tag, broadcast sheet or body number
with a misprint, please submit it with what you think the
numbers should be and we may use it here.
This photo shows the paint code section of
a broadcast sheet for a Challenger T/A. Note that the body
code is FCU - It should read FC7 like the roof code. The
7 borders the U on a keyboard, easy mistake.
Here is another one from a Challenger R/T
with the same error in reverse order - FC7 FCU;
The next photo is from Chris
at the 1970 Charger Registry, note the interior code of
CYXA, it should read C6XA and again, the 6 and Y are adjacent
on the keyboard.
Here is another broadcast sheet photo, sometimes
they caught their mistakes and reprinted broadcast sheets
as you can see here by the "corrected copy" notation.
This next one is not a factory error per
se, this is what happens when 1970 codes are printed on
a leftover 1969 broadcast sheet, these sheets are quite
common.
Here is another basic typo, the 0 and the
) are the same key on the keyboard, someone bumped the "shift"
key.
Here is a mis-stamped TRANS AM tag from a
Challenger T/A. Note that the "N" is missing.
Here is another one that says TRANS UM.
This sheet is for a 1970 Challenger, the
printer skipped a space on these two lines and that caused
the numbers to print one space to the left, it also caused
the last two digits to "overlap" in the last box
in each line.
These photos show the numbers from a 1974
Hang Ten owned by Chris at the 1970 Dodge Charger Registry.
All the numbers match, except the one on the Mylar door
sticker, where the second and third digits are transposed.
Someone had a serious case of "bumble fingers"
on this one.
