January 2010

Happy New Year everyone, we had another two items claimed in December!

Our first IOTM for 2010 is a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Challenger T/A in Bright Blue Metallic. The VIN is JH23J0B296403 , this sheet is free to the owner of the car with proof of legal ownership & proof that the car still exists.

This sheet was found inside a bucket seat of this White Challenger T/A with a blue interior, you can see it on top of the car.

February 2010

We did not have any items claimed in January, but one T/A owner was put in touch with the person that had their original engine & another person was put in contact with two people, each of which have broadcast sheets for two of his cars! This is the first time I can remember one person finding out about two sheets for two of his cars on the same day! Thanks to Buzz, Paul & Ola for their assistance on these reunions.

Our IOTM for February is a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Challenger R/T in Hemi Orange with a black vinyl top, interior & side moldings. The VIN is JS23U0B162154 , this sheet is free to the owner of the car with proof of legal ownership & proof that the car still exists.

Thanks to Dave in California for sending this one in!

March 2010

We had another item claimed in February! For March, we have two Items Of The Month, both of these broadcast sheets were found in the bucket seat backs of a third car. These once again show that the cars were built way out of VIN sequence with little regard to the Scheduled Production Dates.

The VINs one these two broadcast sheets are BS23V0B157442 & BH23G0B166082 , both sheets are free to the owners of the cars with proof of legal ownership & proof that the car(s) still exists.

Thanks to Cecil for sending these in!

This month also marks the 5th Anniversary of HH, thanks to everyone that has helped along the way!

April 2010

We had another item claimed in March! For April, we have a broadcast sheet for a Hamtramck built Challenger Western Sport Special. This option package (A91) was a mid-model year introduction for the California market. Initially, all Challenger Western Sport Specials were supposed to be built at the Los Angeles assembly plant, the earliest & latest scheduled production dates I have on file for the LA built A91 cars so far are Jan. 7th, 1970 & May 5th 1970.

At some point in early May, the LA plant stopped E-Body production & the orders were transferred to the Hamtramck plant so the cars could be built there. The earliest scheduled production date I have on file so far for a Hamtramck built Challenger Western Sport Special is June 6, 1970.

If anyone has a WSS from either plant & you have not contacted me about it, please do so. Also, if you have ANY E- body from the LA plant with a May scheduled production date, please let me know? It would be nice to narrow down the date / VIN range for the last of the E-Bodies built at LA.

The VIN is JH23G0B382702 , this broadcast sheet is free to the owner of the car with proof of legal ownership & proof that the car still exists.

June 2010

We had items claimed for two more cars in May! For June, we have another broadcast sheet for a Challenger T/A, the VIN is JH23J0B299177.

This sheet was one of four found in the low mile T/A & the only one that was for a different car. Interestingly enough, the VINs were 588 apart but they were actually built 12 cars apart according to the broadcast sheet sequence numbers. For more details on this scenario please check past items of the month where I discussed similar situations in more detail.
July 2009  September 2009  March 2010

This broadcast sheet is free to the owner of the car with proof of legal ownership & proof that the car still exists.

Carlisle is fast approaching, so if you own an AAR Cuda or Challenger T/A be sure to click the link above to access the reunion information also. If you have any 'found' items that you would like to hand over to me in person, please bring them to the show with you, see you soon!

July 2010

For our July IOTM we have a broadcast sheet that was sent in last month by Mike in SC, he found it in a bucket seat of his Challenger T/A. It is for a Challenger R/T convertible, the VIN is JS27U0B281117.

This broadcast sheet is free to the owner of the car with proof of legal ownership & proof that the car still exists. Hopefully someone out there has a front seat with a broadcast sheet inside it for Mike's T/A as well, if you have not checked your car or any spare seats you may have for them yet please do so & let me know what you find?

Carlisle is right around the corner as well, so if you have any 'found' items that you would like to hand over to me in person, please bring them to the show with you, see you soon!

August 2010

To all the folks that handed in broadcast sheets to me in person at Carlisle, thank you! They are all listed in the 'Found" section now.

For our August IOTM we have a partial broadcast sheet that was turned in at the show, it is for a Moulin Rouge & Black two-tone Duster with a slant six.

The VIN is VL29C0B357907 - Thanks to Rick for finding it & turning it in.

September 2010

For our September IOTM we have a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Challenger Coupe in Panther Pink. I can now do 'color reports' for the 1970 E-bodies. (see the services section for more info) So I did a quick count of the Panther Pink A93 Challengers currently in the Hamtramck & LA registries and I have heard of only 6 so far with three different engine sizes.

They are:

  • JH23B - 2 known so far. (one has been parted out)
  • JH23C - 1 known so far. (it has been parted out)
  • JH23G - 3 known so far.

Please keep in mind that these numbers can only go up as more data comes in, no one knows how many were actually made. If you have any information on one, please let me know? It would be nice to hear of one that is still all original, does anyone have one? For all owners & fans of factory FM3 cars be sure to visit as well.

This broadcast sheet is for one of the 318 cars, the VIN is JH23G0B282545 and it is free to the owner of the car with proof of legal ownership.

Thanks to Seth for finding it & turning it in!

October 2010

We had one more item claimed in September! For our October IOTM we have a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Road Runner with the 440-6 engine, the VIN is RM23V0G157781.

This one was a bit of a mess when it arrived, so I also used it for a new 'how-to' article on preserving shredded broadcast sheets that you can see here - How to Assemble and Preserve Your Shredded Broadcast Sheet

Thanks to Ryan for finding it, saving all the pieces he could & mailing it in!

November 2010

We did not have any items claimed in October. For our November IOTM we have a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Barracuda Convertible with the 225 slant six engine, the VIN is BH27C0B319225.

One of our registry members found this sheet in one of the bucket seats of his car & sent it in from CT, thanks Steven!

On another note, 2010 has been quite bad for the registry financially. For all the folks that have mentioned making a donation over the last few years but haven't quite got around to it, now would be a great time!

Thanks to everyone that has helped support my efforts here, it is greatly appreciated.

December 2010

Hey gang, we did not have any items claimed in November. I had mentioned last month that the registry was having a bad year financially & five people made donations that totaled over $600.00, thank you very much!

One of those donations came via PayPal & really got my attention with this note, (I removed his last name & city just in case he wants some anonymity) ;

"Barry, This is Hal from PA. 2 1/2 years ago I bought an AAR Cuda. I found a build sheet from another AAR in the car. I sold it to you on Ebay as I needed all the money I could get at that time. Things have improved and I want to make the sale a donation now."

You read it right folks. An Ebay seller returned the money I paid to him over two years ago for the extra broadcast sheet he found in his AAR! I was completely shocked when I read his note.

So, for our December IOTM we have that same broadcast sheet, it is for a 1970 AAR Cuda & the VIN is BS23J0B308443 - It is free to the owner of the car with proof of legal ownership & proof that the car still exists.

Thanks once again to everyone that has helped support our efforts here & a very special THANK YOU to Hal in PA.

Happy Holidays from the entire HH staff & yes Hal, I am still in shock............
