Another item was claimed in
January!
Our IOTM for February 2024 is
a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Cuda hardtop & I noticed
a very cool coincidence!
This sheet just came in the mail,
so I did my normal routine, adding it to the Registry database
& forwarding the VIN to my webmaster so the VIN could
be listed in the found section here.
I also have a database for tracking
1970 Hamtramck actual build sequence starts VS. assigned
VIN numbers. This is where this story takes a turn...
Back in February of 2007, we
listed a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Challenger R/T. The
VIN on it was JS23N0B239900. By comparing the broadcast
sheet print sequence numbers, its job was started just ONE
car BEFORE our current IOTM. The VIN on it is BS23N0B242014.
Yep, the VINs
are close to 5,000 apart & the scheduled production
dates are over a week apart, yet these two car builds were
started one after the other!
The two sheets are from the same
printer & were printed 2/100ths of a minute apart. The
Feb. 2007 IOTM has not been claimed yet, so I pulled it
out of the file. These sheets were connected at a perforated
line when printed & the minute tear details prove that
these two sheets were once connected. VERY cool to see!
Thanks for sending it in Gary!
Proof of ownership and proof
the car still exists is always required to claim any item.
